June 25, 1991
Approved by the ministry of personnel of the People's Republic of China, the national meteorological academy of China was renamed the national meteorological academy of China.
April 24, 1982
The central meteorological administration was renamed the national meteorological administration, and the institute of meteorological sciences of the central meteorological administration was renamed the institute of meteorological sciences of the national meteorological administration.
June 15, 1978
With the approval of the state council, deng xiaoping, li xiannian and other leading comrades of the central government, the institute of meteorological science and the institute of meteorological science and technology information will be merged to form the institute of meteorological science of the central meteorological administration.
March 6, 1973
The state council and the central military commission have decided to separate the central meteorological bureau from the general staff meteorological bureau. On May 23 of the same year, the central meteorological bureau was established under the state council, and the meteorological research institute system was adjusted accordingly.
January 2, 1970
The state council and the central military commission decided to merge the chief staff of the military meteorological bureau with the central meteorological bureau. The institute of meteorological science still serves as a unit under the central meteorological bureau.
1960/ September and 1961/ September
The central meteorological bureau has made two rounds of streamlining and readjustment, and the central meteorological station has been designated by the institute of meteorological sciences.
August 1, 1956
Against the historical background of the CPC central committee calling on the whole nation to "march toward science", the central meteorological station was renamed as the central institute of meteorological science after being reported to the state council by the central meteorological bureau and approved by premier zhou enlai. The first meteorological research institution of the central meteorological bureau was officially established.
