The 2018 academic meeting of China Cyrosphere Science Association was held in Foshan of Guangdong in November 17 – 18, 2018. 2018 Prize for Excellent Scientist of Shi Yafeng Cyrosphere and Environment Foundation and Prize for Young Scientist of Shi Yafeng Cyrosphere and Environment Foundation were awarded during the meeting. Ding Minghu, the associate researcher of Polar Meteorological Institute of China Academy of Meteorological Science was awarded the Prize for Young Scientist of Shi Yafeng Cyrosphere and Environment Foundation for his innovative achievements in the polar cryosphere. 
         Shi Yafeng is the excellent geologist and glaciologist of China, and the explorer and founder of modern glaciology and cryopedology of China. Prize for Young Scientist of Shi Yafeng Cyrosphere and Environment Foundation intends to award the young scientific personnel with new thoughts, ideas, discoveries, technologies and methods in the field of cryosphere and environment, who has done projecting contribution for the development of cryosphere and environment.

        Ding Minghu, the associate researcher, obtained the doctor degree in 2011, and began to work in China Academy of Meteorological Science since 2011. His main researching directions include cryosphere and polar meteorology, the energy and substance exchanging procedure between polar ice sheet and atmosphere, the evaluation on the climate and the ice and snow observation technology and he has made deep and innovative research in such aspects and published more than 80 articles.
